Not necessary. Each Sewtalent magnetic hoop features a smooth, polished surface that is safe for all fabric types. However, if you are working with delicate materials or high-gloss vinyl, you may optionally apply a thin layer of painter’s tape for extra surface traction when used on MAYA embroidery machine models like TCL-1201 or TH-1206.

We recommend keeping your magnetic hoop at least 20 inches (50 cm) away from USB drives, credit cards, and hard drives near your embroidery station.
