Watch videoFor most HONKON embroidery machines such as the HK‑1201X or HK‑1501X series, you’ll need to manually set the hoop size in your control software. Enter the 7.7″ × 12.5″ (195 × 315 mm) field and confirm that your design fits within the 6.9″ × 11.7″ (175 × 295 mm) stitch area. Doing so prevents needle strikes and ensures accurate alignment when using this magnetic embroidery hoop.
The Sewtalent magnetic frame includes clear alignment lines on both axes. To achieve perfect centering on T‑shirts or sweatshirts, mark your garment’s center point with a T‑square, then align it with the hoop’s central grid before securing magnets. This method helps maintain accuracy across repeating projects, especially when working with different fabric thicknesses.
These industrial magnets are extremely powerful and can pinch or snap together quickly. Always keep the Sewtalent magnetic embroidery hoop stored in a locked cabinet or out of children’s reach. When not in use, connect the frames together to neutralize magnetic force. Never allow children to handle the frame or any metal brackets to prevent accidental injury.
A needle strike usually occurs when the selected hoop size in your HONKON machine’s software exceeds the actual sewing field, or the design is too large for the magnetic hoop. Always select the correct 7.7″ × 12.5″ (195 × 315 mm) size or smaller, perform a trace test before stitching, and ensure your embroidery pattern stays fully within the designated area.
