I've been using magnetic embroidery hoops for a long time. It's a great solution for delicate and thick fabrics where regular hoops don't work. The magnets hold heavy terry bathrobes perfectly. I used the Sewtalent 2.5 oz cut-away stabilizer on my Fortever Halo 100 embroidery machine, mainly for T-shirts and other stretch fabrics.
Honestly, the stabilizer is quite strong. It doesn’t tear easily, even when I try to pull it by hand, which already gives confidence before stitching.
I placed the cut-away stabilizer under the T-shirt and hooped it normally. During embroidery, the fabric stayed stable and firm, without shifting.
After finishing the design, I checked the result closely —
there was no puckering, no fabric stretch, and no gaps in the stitches. The embroidery looked clean and well-supported, especially for knit fabric.
From my experience, this cut-away stabilizer works very well for garments where stability really matters.
