This is very rare given the strong magnets of the Sewtalent hoop for Garudan machines. First, check that the metal brackets are fully tightened and properly aligned with your Garudan GES M‑T1501CF or similar model. Use a suitable stabilizer for the fabric type. For dense embroidery on slippery material, adding a thin non-slip liner between layers can further improve grip and prevent movement.
Needle strikes typically occur when the selected hoop size in the software is set larger than the Sewtalent hoop’s actual sewing field (5.7″ × 5.7″ / 145 × 145 mm), or the design itself exceeds that area. Always choose the correct or smaller hoop size for your Garudan embroidery machine and perform a trace test before stitching. Ensuring correct digitizing and alignment will eliminate repeat incidents.
A square Sewtalent magnetic hoop provides a more efficient and usable sewing area for typical logo shapes, unlike smaller round hoops. The flat sides make garment alignment easier on a hooping station, particularly on T‑shirts and bags. For Garudan GES and D‑series devices, the square shape also enhances frame stability and minimizes fabric distortion during embroidery projects.
Strong magnets in the Sewtalent hoop can capture tiny metal fragments during use. Use adhesive tape or reusable sticky putty to carefully lift these particles away without scratching the surface. Avoid wiping with fingers or cloth to prevent injury. Regularly inspect your magnetic hoop on Garudan embroidery machines to keep the magnetic field clean and maintain long-term performance.
